Medicare Advantage plans in Karnes County, Texas

For 2027, 45 Medicare Advantage plans are offered in Karnes County, 1 fewer than in 2026. 19 of them are open to anyone with Medicare Part A and Part B who lives in the county. The other 26 are Special Needs Plans, which only people who qualify can join.

What these numbers mean for you

• HMO or PPO. HMO plans usually ask you to use doctors in the plan's network. PPO plans also pay something toward doctors outside it, usually at a higher cost.
• Plans without drug coverage. 5 of the 2027 plans here do not cover prescriptions. Unless you have other drug coverage, such as from the VA or an employer, going without it can mean a late enrollment penalty later.
